I recently rented a 2024 Volkswagen Golf from VLC Rent a Car and had a mixed experience. To begin with, a member of staff promptly arrived at the airport as soon as I informed them that I had landed, which was a very good start. However, when we arrived at the parking lot to pick up the car, we were informed that the car we had rented was not yet available and that we would have to wait another two hours if we really wanted that model. We were offered a Ford instead, but it was not up to the standard of cleanliness I would have expected for a rental car. I mentioned to the staff that I am unhappy with the standard of cleanliness and for this reason I decided not to accept it. We decided to wait the extra two hours to pick up the 2024 Volkswagen Golf, and I have to say it was worth the wait. The car was in excellent working order and very clean. I was very satisfied with the choice made. However, two aspects I would like to highlight. I was informed that the insurance I paid for does not cover scratches on the wheel (if any) and stains on the seats, which I find unfair. Otherwise it was an excellent experience. Driving the 2024 Volkswagen Golf was smooth.
